Insights from Our Conference “Living & Working Without Borders”

On November 13th, 2025, we had the pleasure of co-hosting “Living & Working Without Borders” with Swiss-Pol Management AG at Kulturpark in Zürich.
A BIG thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed with questions, cases and experiences from real cross-border situations.
🔹 Keynote
Designing Work That Travels Well: Soft Borders, Strong Careers
by Anna Schmidt – an inspiring perspective on how to build careers that are not limited by geography. The keynote introduced “portfolio psychology” and “soft borders, strong careers”: a practical framework, tools, and simple rituals to design a sustainable, flexible career that works across geographies, structures, and organizations, for both individuals and employers.
🔹 Expert Sessions
Throughout the afternoon, our speakers addressed the key legal and practical challenges of international work:
Employment & Unemployment – Sybille Rohner
Immigration & Permits – Pierre-Marie Heller
Social (Un)Security – Dr. Katharina – Kasia Lasota Heller & Sybille Rohner

🔹 Panel Discussion
Under the title “Living and Working Without Borders – The Future of Global Mobility”
Dorota Kafara, Maria Claudia Romano, Vibha Mohan and Wojtek Wojaczek, PhD, moderated by Dr. Katharina – Kasia Lasota Heller, discussed how global mobility is evolving. The panel focused on global hiring and international mobility: legal and tax challenges across borders, how big companies manage international teams, and what employees expect today (flexibility, safety, responsibility). It also covered how innovation and AI reshape employment, teamwork, recruitment, and what young professionals look for in digital, global employers.
🔹 Apéro & Networking
We closed the day with an Apéro and networking, where borders truly disappeared – between HR, law, tax, mobility experts and international specialists sharing their perspectives.
Thank you to all speakers, partners and participants for making this event so valuable.
