Santander offers its blockchain-powered solution for international payments in 19 new regions
In the globally connected world, where international payments and trade deals are made every minute, people want their transactions to be as secure and fast as possible. To address customers’ complaints about clarity regarding transaction exchange rate and timing, Santander, one of the banking giants, decided to team up with Ripple, the financial network offering blockchain-powered payment solutions, and add 19 new regions to its One Pay FX app for international payments. Designed to encourage borderless transactions, the feature is now available in the USA. Previously it was only available to users in Spain, Poland, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. With the emergence of blockchain solutions in the banking world, the system of payments we know might be soon faster, better, and more secure, if banks play their cards right.
