We are proudly announcing that Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller (Founding Partner at LEXcellence AG and President of the Swiss-Polish Blockchain Association) is the moderator of the panel discussion Financial Services & Regulations – DeFi, CBDC, MiCA during the annual SPBA symposium SPBA Beyond Blockchain: Finance, Luxury Goods, Sports, and Entertainment organized by Swiss-Polish Blockchain Association (in collaboration with Polish Blockchain Association, Akademia Leona Koźmińskiego (Kozminski University), Polish Blockchain and New Technology Chamber of Commerce, Rumble Fish Software Development) on September 4, 2023, at Akademia Leona Koźmińskiego (Kozminski University), Warsaw, Poland

 

Katharina will be discussing the fascinating and complex world of Blockchain, Fintech, Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC), Stablecoins, and Markets in Crypto-Assets (MICA). together with Alexander Brunner, President, Home of Blockchain.swiss | Prof. Voron Gauthier, EPFL | Krzysztof Gogol, Lecturer, University of Zurich | Michal Pospieszalski, Digital Fortress | Ralf Kubli, Casper Association, Validation Cloud.

 

Dr. Katharina Lasota Heller has over 20 years of experience in IT, IP, and FinTech law. Founding Partner of LEXcellence – Swiss Law Firm in Baar (Zug). President of Swiss-Polish Blockchain Association. Dr. Lasota Heller deals with issues related to Blockchain, FinTech, NFTs, and Metaverse on daily basis. As visiting professor at Kozminski University in Warsaw and HSLU in Lucerne she lectures on Blockchain, IP and Technology Law; an attorney at law admitted to practice in Switzerland and in Poland. Kasia received a doctoral degree in 2003 from Ludwig Maximilian University; as a scholar of the Max-Planck Institute in Munich. She is an alumnus of McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento California, where she finished her LL.M. Studies in 2004. Over the years, she has worked for several large law firms in Munich, Warsaw, and Vienna. Between 2010 and 2015 led a global compliance program of a South African Company and was President of EDiMA. Katharina is passionate about economic disruption and data-driven economy. Wife, and mother of a teenage daughter, loves skiing and hiking in the Swiss Alpes, and occasionally plays golf.

This time, as the name suggests, we'll explore how blockchain and AI intersect to boost industries like finance, luxury goods, sports, and entertainment. We'll also discuss the newest regulations (MiCA included) and their potential to change the blockchain arena. The event consists of discussion panels and keynotes from top industry experts.
